Village Privacy Notice

Right now, Village is a sign-up list. This notice covers exactly that, and nothing more. We will publish a fuller policy before the platform opens.

What we collect

When you sign up at itsvillage.com, we collect your first name, last name and email address.

If you also fill in our optional longer questionnaire, we collect the answers you choose to give us about your work and what you are looking for. Every question there is optional.

That is all. We do not ask for payment details, and we do not collect anything else about you.

Why we collect it

We collect it for two reasons:

• To email you when Village opens, and occasionally to share how it is going.
• To understand who is interested, so that we build the right thing.

What we will never do

We will never sell your information.

We will never rent, trade or share it with advertisers or data brokers.

We will never pass it to anyone else for their own marketing.

We keep what you tell us in confidence. The only people who see it are the small team building Village, and the service providers we use to store data and send email. Those providers are contractually required to protect your information and to use it only on our instructions.

How long we keep it

We keep your information until you ask us to remove it, or until we close the list, whichever comes first. You can ask at any time.

Your choices

• Stop hearing from us. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately.
• See what we hold. Email us and we will send you a copy.
• Fix it or delete it. Email us and we will correct or delete your information.

To do any of these, email us at info@itsvillage.com. We will deal with your request within 30 days, and usually much sooner.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including limiting who on our side can access it. No system is completely secure, but we hold very little, and we treat what we hold carefully.

Cookies

Our sign-up site uses only the cookies needed to make the page work. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Changes to this notice

We will update this notice when the Village platform opens, because we will then be collecting more than a name and an email. If anything material changes, we will email you before it takes effect.
